How to add margin / markup to products prices in PrestaShop?

The PriceMaster module allows you to automatically and one-time apply markup and mark-up to the prices of products in your store. Margin/mark-up additions, i.e. changing the selling price, can be performed on the prices in the database or on the prices displayed in the online store, without disturbing the prices in the database.

  • Changing prices in the database is visible on the store front and for integrations that use the database, such as Allegro, Ceneo, XML export, etc.
  • Changing prices only on the store front does not affect prices in the database. Prices changed only on the front end use the prices in the database - the module takes the price from the database, recalculates it on the fly and displays it on the store front....
In this post, we will discuss changing prices in the database.

1. Go to the module, then to the Price Margin tab:

2. In the upper right corner, click on the “ADD” plus button

3. Then enter a name for your markup in the form (it is not displayed anywhere, but it is useful in navigating through many markup rules).

Then choose whether it should be a margin or a price markup.

  • Margin is the ratio of sales profit to sales price, expressed as a percentage
  • The markup is the percentage of the price that will be added to it.

4. In our case, we choose the margin and set 25% .
We choose that the type of prices to be imposed is net price:

5. Then we can select the categories to which we want to impose a markup (the markup will be imposed on all products in the selected categories).
In our case, we will select all categories from the store by clicking on the appropriate button:

6. We can also add an additional determinant for assigning markups to products by marking the manufacturers and/or suppliers that a product must belong to in order to impose a markup on it:

7 We can also enable or disable the option “All selected options must match.”
When this option is enabled, each product to be markup must have at least one of the selected categories, one of the selected suppliers, and one of the selected manufacturers:

8. Finally, we select the customer group for which our margin will be charged.
This setting is important because to different groups of customers we may want to impose different sized margins:

9. In our case, we select all groups and click on save:

10. After successfully saving the changes, our margin will be active for selected products and customer groups:
