Margin / price mark-up - change of prices in the database

The PriceMaster module allows you to automatically and one-time apply markup and mark-up to the prices of products in your store. Margin/mark-up additions, i.e. changing the selling price, can be performed on the prices in the database or on the prices displayed in the online store, without disturbing the prices in the database.

  • Changing prices in the database is visible on the store front and for integrations that use the database, such as Allegro, Ceneo, XML export, etc.
  • Changing prices only on the store front does not affect prices in the database. Prices changed only on the front end use the prices in the database - the module takes the price from the database, recalculates it on the fly and displays it on the store front....
In this post, we will discuss changing prices on the store front without violating prices in the database.

1. Go to the appropriate tab in the module:

2. Click on add new configuration:

3. We then enter a name saying what the price update does, and additionally indicate what the update is supposed to do, in this case, change product prices:

4. Then we choose which prices to change and which price to use as the base price for the calculation

This is useful, for example, when you want to impose a mark-up on wholesale prices (the prices at which you bought the goods from the wholesaler), in our case you will select the wholesale prices and they will be saved, along with the mark-up, as the new net prices of the products:

5. Then we have the option to set the rounding for the price with the mark-up already added:

6. We skip this step and move on by setting that we increase prices by 25%:

7. Then we can select the categories to which we want to change prices

In our case, we will select Sobie all categories from the store by clicking on the appropriate button:

8. Next, we can select additional determinants for products by marking the manufacturers and/or suppliers to which they must be assigned in order for prices to be changed to them

You can also enable or disable the option to change prices only for active products (those that are displayed in the store):

9. The last option i.e. “Update original prices” is used to protect products from continuous price changes

This is useful, for example, when we put this configuration in cron, when it is enabled the prices will be changed whenever we run this script, while when it is disabled the prices for each product will be changed only once:

10. We disable this function and save the changes:

11. Once the configuration is saved correctly, we can run it by clicking the following option next to the given configuration:

12. We can add it change prices to CRON to update prices automatically

We can get the link to CRON for the selected configuration by clicking the option below:
