Configuring and using the PShow Copy Link module
Configuring and using the PShow Copy Link module
The module adds a "copy link" button that copies a clean URL of the current page to the clipboard - without the tracking parameters appended by Google, Facebook and other systems (e.g.utm_source, fbclid, gclid). This is the module's key feature: the shared link is short and free of "tails". The button can be shown automatically on the product page or inserted manually anywhere in the theme. In the following example you will configure the button's appearance, the link-cleaning rules and how it is displayed. Step 1. Open the module configuration - in the menu select PShow Copy Link (the Copy link tab).
Step 2. (Optional) In the Icon (Font Awesome class) field you can enter your own icon class, e.g.
fas fa-link - this works only if your theme ships Font Awesome. Leave the field empty to use the module's built-in icon (SVG), which renders on any theme.Step 3. Set the Show the text label next to the icon switch to Enabled if a text should appear next to the icon; Disabled shows the icon only.
Step 4. (Optional) In the Custom label field you can enter your own button text. The field is multilingual - use the language switcher above the field to set a separate label for each shop language. Leave it empty to use the built-in, translated
Copy link wording.Step 5. (Optional) In the Color field, choose the color of the icon and label. Leave it empty to inherit the theme color.
Step 6. (Optional) In the Font size field, enter the CSS size of the icon and label, e.g.
16px or 1rem. Leave it empty to inherit the theme size.Step 7. In the Confirmation after click field, choose the subtle feedback shown once the link is copied:
- Tooltip near the button - a small bubble above the button,
- Temporary label change - the button label briefly changes to "Link copied",
- Small toast message - a short notification at the bottom of the screen,
- None - no confirmation at all.
Step 8. The Parameters to remove field holds the list of parameters stripped from the copied link (comma or space separated). The
* symbol is a wildcard, e.g. utm_* removes every parameter starting with utm_. The default list covers the most common tracking parameters (utm_*, fbclid, gclid, gbraid, msclkid, _ga and more) - you can extend or shorten it freely.Step 9. (Optional) In the Parameters to always keep field, enter the parameters that must stay in the link even if they match the remove rules - e.g. your affiliate/partner program parameter (reflink).
Step 10. Leave the Keep all parameters for a logged-in customer switch Enabled so that nothing is stripped for a logged-in customer. This way a partner logged into their own account copies the link with the reflink intact.
Step 11. (Optional) In the Custom link additions field, you can provide an extra query string appended to the copied link, e.g.
utm_source=share or ref=myshop. Leave it empty to append nothing.Step 12. Set the Show automatically on the product page switch to Enabled so the button appears automatically under the product information. If you prefer to insert the button manually elsewhere, leave it Disabled (see Step 14).
Step 13. Click Save. The settings take effect in the store immediately.
Step 14. (Optional - manual insertion) To place the button at a chosen spot in the theme, add one of these tags to a
.tpl file: -
{widget name='pshowcopylink'}- the universal way (widget), -
{hook h='displayPShowCopyLink'}- via the module hook.
Usage. A customer clicks the button on a page - the module copies the cleaned URL of that page to the clipboard and shows the chosen confirmation. The copied link can be pasted right away (Ctrl+V), e.g. in a messenger or on social media, without any unnecessary tracking parameters.
Note. Settings are stored separately for each shop (multistore), and the button label separately for each language. Copying to the clipboard requires a secure connection (HTTPS) or the
localhost address; otherwise the module falls back to an alternative method.
