Automatically importing data from Google Analytics into Google Ads

First you need to enable auto-tagging (Google Analytics documentation: data import):
1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
2. In the left-hand menu click Settings.
3. Click the Account settings tab above the table.
4. Click the Auto-tagging section.
5. To enable auto-tagging, click Tag the URL that people click on in your ad.
6. Click Save.

To import goals and e-commerce transactions from Analytics into the Google Ads conversion tracking tag, your Analytics and Google Ads accounts must be linked (Google Analytics documentation: exporting to Google Ads).
1. Sign in to your Google Analytics account.
2. Click Admin and go to the property you want to link.
3. In the Property column click Google Ads Linking.
4. Click + New Link Group.
5. Choose the Google Ads accounts you want to link, then click Continue.
6. Enter a name for the link group.
7. Set linking to ON for every view in the property where you want to see Google Ads data.
8. You can also choose Enable Display Network Impression Reporting to include this information in each view.
9. Click Link accounts.

Next, sign in to your Google Ads account and add a data import from your Google Analytics account (Google Ads documentation: account linking).
1. Sign in to your Google Ads account.
2. In the top right of the account click "Tools".
3. In the "Measurement" section click "Conversions".
4. Click the plus button +.
5. Click Import, then Google Analytics (UA) (for Universal Analytics properties) or Google Analytics (GA4) (for Google Analytics 4 properties).
6. Click Continue.
7. On the next page, select the features you want to import, then click Import and continue.
8. Click Done - Google Ads will start importing data from the Analytics property. Historical data from before the import will not be included.
